Iowa State Agricultural Business Club Earns National Recognition at AAEA Annual Meeting
The Iowa State University Agricultural Business Club received national recognition at the 2026 Agricultural & Applied Economics Association (AAEA) Annual Meeting in Kansas City, earning the Outstanding Club Award.
The club’s Professional Meetings Committee, led by Claire Carpenter, prepared and submitted reports for both the Outstanding Club Award and Creative Club Award. Their work highlighted the club’s involvement, programming, professional development opportunities, and accomplishments throughout the year. The Outstanding Club Award recognizes the continued dedication of Agricultural Business Club members and leadership to creating valuable experiences for students.
Iowa State was also represented in the Academic Quiz Bowl competition. Clayton Baum, Greyson Stengel, and Hunter Hallengren competed together for Iowa State, finishing second after eight challenging rounds. Charlie Lane also represented Iowa State as an alternate and competed alongside students from two other universities.
In addition to the club and Quiz Bowl recognition, Charlie Lane was elected to the AAEA Student Section Officer Team as Social Chair. His election gives Iowa State representation on the four-person national officer team for the first time in recent memory.
The Agricultural Business Club is proud of the students who represented Iowa State in Kansas City and contributed to another successful year for the organization.
